Well they can but I dont recomend it. They are social so they do better in atleast a pair but a trio is even better. As for the tank size one could live in a 5 gallon but if you get more then one you need a 10 gallon.

Yeha you could easily get a fire belly toad setup for under $100. Heres what you need:

    1. 10 gallon tank.(can hold 4 toads)
2.Special reptile multch. (I like reptibark)
    3.Large water bowl
    4. Hides. (2 would be enough)
    5. Temperature and humidity guages
    6. Fake plant
    7. Screen top for tank
    8. Reptile lamp with UVB bulb.

You may also need a under the tank heater if you live in a place where it gets really cold. Hope that helps. Send me a message when you get them. :)

Its best to get a UVB light to simulate the suns natural rays. Simply putting them next to a window does not work as glass filters out UVB. Also a tank put next to a window that gets direct light can easily over heat. If the window gets direct light i would recomend moving them some where else.
