   They eat anything. In the ocean they are bottom-feeders and will eat all the crap laying on the ocean floor.

   Hi (Am a land hermit crab owner with over 2 years experience)
   If the food is preservative free (ethoxyquin, copper sulfates and the like) then it should be fine to feed to your hermit crabs.

   well…hermit crabs are said to get very bored of eating the same foods and they need alot of variety in their diet to stay happy…I don't think that the reptile food would be appropriate as a permanent meal source but might be a good treat to offer your crabs
   here are a site which discusses the do's and don'ts for a great hermit crab diet:

   do feed fresh fruits such as mangos, apples, bananas.
   do feed calcium supplements for shell growth.
   don't feed same diet constantly. (they get bored easily)
   don't only feed commercial crab food. (it doesn't have enough nutrients)

   i have owned land hermit crabs for a while and they mostly like to eat fruits vegitables and love baths (be sure to use warm water only and not give them a bath every day) if you have any more questions please tell me so i can answer =) good luck
