Introduction to my New Account – My Herps

These are all my herps. I don’t need any nasty comments about my animals being fat or not to touch the frog or anything stupid like that. I know how to take care of my animals, thanks. If you want to complain that I shouldn’t touch the frog, know that my hands were wrinkled and drained of oils because I was cleaning their cage.

Oh, and, don’t tell me anything about mixing them, because they’re all doing well. =)

How do you care for newts?

I saw a newt today at my local fish store and thought they were really cute.I am not planning to get one right away because I already have a lot of fish but just wondered if they are hard to take care of and what there requirements are in case I decide to get one some time in the future. If someone has a link where I can read more about them that would be great.

Newts are so awesome! My brother has some, he has had the same two for 10 years! They are fun and easy to take care of, but they still are some work. Here is a link I found helpful: http://ia.essortment.com/howtotakecare_rorv.htm

Good Luck!

how much does a chinese fire belly newt cost to take care of?

im getting two fire belly newys and i need to know how much all the supplys will cost . just a rougt estament though

I would say:
about $20.00 for a tank to put it in
about $5.00-$10.00 for the newt itself
about $3.00 every couple of weeks for food
$5.00-$10.00 for a filter, which is a good investment but not a necessity (if you get a tank that has a filter then you don't have to worry about that expense.
for decoration I just had some rocks for them to climb on. It didn't cost me anything. If you do that though you wanna be careful that you don't put a rock in that could roll on them or crush them.
I would say total it's a $28.00- $40.00 investment
