i found a salamander in our front yard i have it in a fish tank w/ some water 3 rocks and grass im afraid if i let him go he will die beacuse it is so hot. so i wanna take care of him until it is a little cooler out. so any help?

are you sure he is a fire salamander cuz the fire salamander had yellow lines and not spots….
does anyone else know?
i am not able to get worms so i dont know what to feed it

Does it need a tank, rocks? What do they eat? Fresh running water like an aquarium or still water?

Probably a Red Eft (young Eastern Newt).

Can you successfully capture and maintain health of a yellow spotted salamander? If possible, are pet store supplied insects and worms okay for feeding?

wax worms and crickets are a good fod for them.make thier new home as natural as possible and there should be no problem.
