Thanks PANDAzPETz for the ideas, getting reptile carpet, the tadpole care (that got a bunch of stress out of me), the fire bellied newt and toads, the tadpole, a filter covered in those cool cheap convenient suction cup plastic plants, the floating island, and the tank in general. You should subscribe to him because of his how-to videos and his video request.

Think about where a normal tadpole lives. Usually they stick to slow moving water because they aren’t really great swimmers. You set up probably puts a lot of stress on it because it only has a small amount of room to move around. If you repositioned the filter so it was putting the water in more gently, it’d probably help it become more relaxed in the setup. I used to raise tons of tadpoles when I was younger and I found that it was definitely better for them to have lots of room to maneuver.

i heard that if i have crashing water than it will be less likely that the tank will conduct bacteria.

  15. The water in that …
The water in that tadpole tank is a bit fast and rough, plus its pretty shallow. I’d consider changing that. Maybe repositioning the filter would allow it more room to swim around without having the water crashing down.
